The Anne Springs Close Greenway, minutes south of Charlotte in Fort Mill, SC, is a nature preserve more than double the size of Central Park, nestled among magnificent lakes and hardwood forests. Its 2,100 acres serve as a great buffer against urban development and provide a large open area for various activities, including biking, hiking, horseback riding, picnics, kayaking, and other outdoor sports. The site has been permanently maintained for public usage and has ties to the Catawba Indians and the Civil War. Native plants and wildlife, historic buildings, a 36-mile network of pathways, and facilities for weddings and other special events may all be found on the Greenway. Membership dues, program fees, and individual donations are all used to fund the organization’s annual operations. Lake Haigler, Dairy Barn, Adventure Road, Blue Star, and Greenway Stables are the main entrances with supplementary information and trail maps.
